Mini apple galettes
These delicious mini apple galettes are quick and easy to make!
all purpose flour
cold and cubed
small apples (or 3-4 medium apples)
cored and sliced
powdered cinnamon and light brown sugar for the topping
Put the flour in a bowl with cubed butter, sugar and a pinch of salt.
Using your hands, mix together until pea-sized and some slightly larger pieces form.
Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough starts to come together and is moist but not wet and sticky.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Remove the dough from the refrigerator. On a lightly floured surface roll it into a rectangle about 3-4 mm thick.
Cut 12 cm circles and place them on a cookie pan lined with parchment paper. Roll the scraps and repeat.
Arrange apple slices on top of dough, leaving a border around the edge. Fold the edges towards fruit and sprinkle witn cinnamon and light brown sugar.
Place the mini galettes in the refrigerator; in the meantime preheat the oven to 220°C.
Bake the mini galettes for 15 minutes at 220°C, then reduce heat to 190°C and bake for additional 20 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
Remove the mini galettes from the oven and allow to cool before serving.
You cane make the dough in advance and freeze it. Put in the fridge for a few hour before using.
